Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State has been asked to own up on what he knows about the alleged ongoing plans by some persons to overthrow President Muhammadu Buhari through military upsurge. Wike, had while reacting to a comment by Chief of Army Staff, General Tukur Buratai, that some people were approaching soldiers for political reasons; asked him to stop allocating soldiers to politicians. According to him, “Who are those approving battalions of soldiers to politicians? If they don’t want soldiers to follow politicians, they should stop giving soldiers to politicians.” Reacting to Wike’s comment, Barrister Charles Timothy, the National Coordinator of Coalition for Truth and Justice, a human right group said the statement is heavily pregnant with meaning.
