Men of Ogun State Police Command have arrested a housewife, Fatimoh Olanrewaju, for allegedly breaking the arms and legs of
her five -year -old stepson. The woman, who lives at Onihale village, along old Abeokuta-Lagos expressway, was said to be fond of maltreating the boy. Sunday Vanguard gathered that the boy, Iyanu Olanrewaju, has been taken to the Federal Medical Centre, Idi-Aba, Abeokuta for treatment. The suspect, it was learnt, is in custody of the Anti-Human Trafficking Department of the state Police Command. Further findings revealed that the mother of the victim had divorced the father , Idowu Olanrewaju, about two years ago, but, the child was living with his father and stepmother. When our correspondent visited the village, the residents said the stepmother was fond of maltreating the child ,and had ignored efforts to stop her from doing so. It was learnt that the last straw that broke the camel’s back was the recent attack on the child, which resulted in the fracture of the arms and legs, prompting neighbours to invite the police. An eyewitness told our correspondent that the boy was initially taken to General Hospital, Ifo, but the management had to roofer him to the Federal Medical Centre, Abeokuta as a result of the high degree of injuries.
