President Umaru Yaradua is Selfless

Image
Ask me who's Nigeria's best president ever, and I will gladly tell you Yar’Adua . The man was good. He lived a simple and honest life. Served his home state for 8 years and Nigeria for 2+ years. He did not buy private jets, did not establish a private university, did not build a private estate, did not loot money and stash it in a foreign account, did not build a private radio/tv station, did not build a private hotel/shopping mall, and did not oppress his opponents. He obeyed the rule of law . On assuming office, he publicly declared his assets. He initiated electoral reforms and gave the judiciary a free hand to do its job. In his days, the ruling party lost several states to opposition via court judgments, and the good man kept his cool. He brought peace to the Niger-Delta via amnesty . He created the Ministry of the Niger-Delta and granted scholarships to thousands of former militants in different universities abroad. He was learned, he spoke coherently, and acted resp...

6 Laws to win in life

 1. Stop  telling people your plans When you over share, you hurt your own progress. Keep things private and win. 2. Know when to say no Strong people put their own well being before pleasing others. Practice saying no more often. 3. Make a decision, and commit to it Too many people lack discipline and go back to their toxic patterns. Make a decision to change, and stick to it. 4. There is power in numbers Nobody has made it in life all by themselves. You need a team that uplifts and supports you. Stop being a lone wolf. 5. Starve your distractions, feed your focus Focus on your goals instead of cheap dopamine. You will achieve anything you ever wanted. 6. Always provide value to others There is only one secret to success: making other people's lives easier. In business and relationships, providing value will keep you their first priority. Try to appreciate other people's work

2 Banks Crashed, Customers Panic

Two troubled financial institutions, UT Bank and Capital Bank, were yesterday compulsorily taken over by GCB Bank following the revocation of their licences by the Bank of Ghana (BoG). The two banks are said to be financially insolvent – putting customers’ investments at great risk – and the Bank of Ghana (BoG) was compelled to intervene. The acquisition was in line with Section 123 of the Banking Act, 2016 (Act 930), which grants the Central Bank the authority to revoke the licence of any bank that is deemed to be in financial distress. The unannounced action, which was carried out to prevent mass withdrawal by depositors, caused fear and panic among customers, with the BoG assuring that there was no cause for alarm and that their investments are safe. Immediately the announcement was made, the two banks were rebranded with GCB logo at both the Airport and Spintex Road headquarters. The workers of the banks were initially prevented from accessing their offices; ...

Common Mistakes Made with Money

#MoneyMistakes: 1. Never borrow money with interest to start a business (except for salary loans); only borrow to grow your business. This is because business takes a long time to gain ground and begin making profit yet for most of the loans you begin paying back a month later or even earlier. Hence,  never borrow to start a business expecting that business to be the one to pay back the borrowed money plus the interest. #MoneyMistakes: 2. Never spend money you haven't received. Don't even promise someone money based on a promise you have from someone else. Don't hear somebody say, "Ezra come to my office tomorrow at 9am and pick 2m" and you go and buy items on credit hoping to clear when the promised money comes. #MoneyMistakes: 3. If you want to ever save, whenever you receive money ensure you don't start spending before taking out the savings hoping that you'll save what remains. Normally what remains is zero. And things to spend on even incite t...

Who Is Ruling Nigeria - Buhari or The Others?

In his reaction to how the Nigerian economy has been managed by past governments, Professor Pat Utomi has stated that the likes of Obasanjo, IBB and co are still the ones running Nigeria with President Muhammadu Buhari. Utomi lamented that there was too much of politics in Nigeria, adding that the country needed to get rid of more politicians and get more statesmen, people who can think outside party politics. “The central thing driving us should be Nigeria, the future, the children, productivity and growth. These are realities and should happen, but they are not happening. “What happened in Nigeria is that the culture of the class of 1966 was primarily anti-intellectual. Maybe, they did not think through it as a policy, but they forced Nigeria’s brightest minds to live the town”, the professor of political economy and management expert told Guardian. “Buhari is part of the class of 1966. Is Obasanjo still around? Yes. What about TY Danjuma, Ibrahim Babang...
