55-year-old man abducts, rapes teenage girl in Lagos

A 55-year-old man, Yekini Ogunjobi, who allegedly abducted a teenage girl for several days and assaulted her sexually, was on Wednesday in Lagos released on a N100,000 bail.
Police have pressed abduction and sexual assault charges at an Ikeja Chief Magistrates’ Court against the security man, who lives at 12, Esuola St., Oko-Oba, Agege, a suburb of Lagos.
Prosecutor Rafael Donny told the court that the offences were committed between July 25 and July 28 at the residence of the accused.
Donny said the accused lured the 14-year-old girl, who was sent on an errand, into his house and shut the door before assaulting her sexually.
“The accused abducted the girl for four days and assaulted her sexually.
“It was one of her relations who sighted her in front of the accused’s house that reported to the police,” Sgt. Donny said.
According to the prosecutor, the offences contravene Sections 141(a) and 259 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State 2011.
The accused, who entered a ‘not-guilty’ plea, risks 18 years or life imprisonment on conviction.
Chief Magistrate Tajudeen Elias admitted the accused to a bail of N100, 000 in addition to two sureties in like sum.
The case has been adjourned to October 6 for mention.

I have sex only with dead bodies – Mortuary attendant [VIDEO]

A Cameroonian man, Sharkan Lucas, on Wednesday made shocking revelations on how he took to having sex with dead bodies due to constant rejection from ladies because he works as mortuary attendant. The video is here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v0ENfSvCwcM
Lucas, an attendant at Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital, insisted he was mentally stable.
Lucas Sharkan
Speaking on Ghanaian TV station ADOM TV, the mortician claimed that sleeping with the dead women (an act called necrophilia) was part of the training he received when he was hired at the hospital in Ghana.
Lucas said, “I do it many many times. That is the training you have to do that, because once you have done that you will not be afraid of them again. If you want to bath the dead body, you will carry her legs up to wash her private part, that’s why we are taught to learn to sleep with the corpses. When I am inside the mortuary, I see some fresh girls and I satisfy myself.
“Being with dead bodies is normal for me because I am with them day and night. I feel like they are living whenever I am at work.
“Besides, I wanted to marry but the girl says I am a mortuary man. I can satisfy myself at the mortuary because girls don’t want to date me outside or live with me for fear that I may kill them. Living women rejected me because of my job, that is why I am still single.
“Since I was born, I have never slept with a living being. Working in a mortuary is a gift God gave me, it’s my talent. It’s very rare, not everybody can do it.
“I am okay, I have no mental issues,” he added.
Meanwhile, Lucas said he was sacked shortly after he divulged his affairs on camera.
He said, “When I got back to work three day after (yesterday), my colleague said my supervisor brought policemen to arrest me. They did not let me go near the mortuary again and I have worked with them for 2 years and 6 months and I have not been paid.
“I want them to pay my money so I can go back to my country,” Lucas said.

True Confession: I caught my uncle’s wife having sex with gateman in her husband’s bedroom

My purpose of writing is to get people’s opinion on what to do.
Cheating wife
I came back that day because I could not meet up a job appointment in Igando area due to heavy traffic. I was reluctant to return home since I had just left but I couldn’t think of a better place to go so I headed home. On getting to our compound, I didn’t find the gate man at his post and I was even angry because of the security risk of him leaving the gate open like that.
But something got me worried when I saw the gate man’s sandals right inside our sitting room. I just told myself that something is going on between my uncle’s wife and this dirty boy. I was right, when I moved close to the window of my uncle’s bedroom I started hearing screams of sexual pleasure from his wife. I tried to peep into the room but it was difficult because of the protector.
So, I summoned courage and walk to the door as if I wanted to tell my uncle’s wife that I was back. I opened the door and caught the adulterous woman red-handed under the dirty gate man (boy). Sadly, the gate man was already ejaculating so he couldn’t get up immediately, it took him few seconds to jump off and grab his clothes.
I simply walked away and returned to the sitting room, pretending to be watching a programme on the TV. Few minutes later my uncle’s wife joined me and started begging that it would not happen again. I didn’t say a word but when she kept pressing I said ok I’ve heard. Later she brought food for me but I refused it and since then she has been putting pressure on me.
The unfortunate thing is now she even wants me to sleep with her as an assurance that I wont tell my uncle, always coming to my room half naked. Because of this I’ve not eating in the house in the last one week, I’m almost going broke already.
My uncle may be back next week. I will like people with more experience to tell me what to do when he comes back. Should I tell my uncle the kind of wife he married or quietly move out?

True Confession: My boyfriend impregnated me and my daughter

I am in my early 50s. I am divorced; have been for more than a decade. I live on my own with my three children.
Besides, my daughters were grown up to appreciate that I need a man in my life. Well, I thought I could trust him so I gave him permission to come to my house whenever he likes I am in or not. I also assumed my daughters were responsible enough to see him as their father. Unfortunately, I miscalculated. Unknown to me while he was having affairs with me, he was also sleeping with my two older daughters.
I didn’t know what was happening until I took my elders daughter to the hospital following her persistent complains of malaria. I also haven’t been feeling well; so decided to visit the hospital with my daughter.
When the result came out, we were both pronounced pregnant. I was shocked because I didn’t expect to be at y age since I have been having irregular period in the last two years.
At 28, my daughter has never been pregnant. I was happy for her thinking it was the man I knew her with was responsible. Then, it didn’t even occur to me that he [my daughter’s fiancĂ©] has been out of Lagos for three months.
It wasn’t until we got home that the real problem started. We met my boyfriend at home. While I was still thinking of how to break my news to him, a text message came to his phone. After reading the text, he became very agitated so much so he lost concentration.
I was so concerned. I forget what I was about to say and snatched the phone from him to know what got him me very suspicious; I quickly transferred the message to my phone before handing it over to him. I did the transfer while he was struggling to take the phone away from me so, he wasn’t aware of what I did.
I almost fainted when I read the text and discovered it was my daughter telling him that we were both pregnant for him and he should tell me to abort the baby since she was going to keep hers.
She told him if he tried to play smart with her, the whole world would know that he has been sleeping with her mother, sister and herself.
My second daughter has left home for an unknown destination following the revelation by her sister that she too has been sleeping with him.
I am very confused as my daughter and I are stuck without situation. How do I explain to the world that my daughter and I are pregnant for this same man and that he is nowhere to be seen? What should I do please?

I will wipe out Boko Haram from Nigeria – Buhari

President Muhammadu Buhari, on Tuesday, expressed his administration’s resolve to flush out Boko Haram and extremism from Nigeria’s territory.
President Buhari

Speaking at an event in Abuja, the President condemned the activities of Boko Haram terrorists.
Represented by the Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo, Buhari who described the activities of the terrorist group as “mindless,” said, “The government is determined to ensure that the safety of every single Nigerian is a priority; this is why I have repeatedly ordered our law enforcement agents to ensure that perpetrators of violent acts are arrested and made to face the law.
Boko Haram
“We will not allow anyone, under any guise, whether it is politics, culture or religion to violate life or property of another citizen. This is the oath to which I swore and I will uphold it at all cost.”

36-year-old virgin shares the secrets of abstinence

Practicing abstinence is probably one of the most challenging things to do. Your mind, spirit, and body are constantly in conflict as you decide which one (or two) is the most accurate.
Aside from the benefits of practicing abstinence that are taught in the Christian faith, refraining from sex has been scientifically proven to be successful for women who are seeking marriage. Scientists believe women who “play hard to get” are able to assess a man who will stick by her side during pregnancy.
Forty-three-year-old Lakita Garth was a 36-year-old virgin in 2005 when she kissed her boyfriend-turned-husband for the first time. Garth has gone public about her 36 years of virginity and is now helping other women around the world learn how to refrain from sex prior to marriage.
Excerpts from her interview are below:
On Her Family’s Influence on Her Choice:
In my family, if you had sex outside of marriage, someone got married, or someone got shot! I come from a line of Christians that believe your faith must impact the culture. It has to go farther than your personal relationship with Christ.
You can’t be the key to his spiritual maturity.
Her Advice to Singles:
To be single was to be undistracted in my devotion to God. Keep your options open. God’s perfect mate for you may not look or sound like your ‘fantasy mate’.
One commenter with the user name “Chris” did not agree with Garth’s advice. He responded to her interview saying: “The Bible does not make any of the claims that this article makes about sexual purity before marriage. The abstinence model of Christianity is an inherited tradition and not a hard and fast line which the Bible draws. “Don’t have sex before marriage!” they say. Why? The Bible says we should abstain from “sexual immorality.” What is sexual immorality? “Sex before marriage,” they say. Says who? It is a tradition, not an inviolable maxim — a tradition which made sense in earlier cultures where everyone married AND they did so at a young age.
Sex before marriage is certainly a risky venture, but articles like these unnecessarily shame devoted lovers who have not yet overcome the logistical hurdles of holding a wedding. In all honesty, the girl in this article sounds totally self-absorbed/self-righteous, some of the most disgusting traits for a Christian to have. We should NOT be holding her up as a model for Christian women.”

Senators, Rep members have no right to Budget since they don’t collect taxes – Fashola

The Minister of Power, Workers and Housing, Babatunde Fashola, has said Federal lawmakers have no right to increase national budget since they don’t collect tax.
Speaking at a forum organised by the Nigerian Bar Association on Monday, the former Lagos State governor, said the legislature lacked the power to unilaterally increase national budget.

Stating that the major responsibility of the legislature was representation, Fashola expressed the need for collaboration between the two arms of government in the budget process, stressing that it will help to avoid friction.
“If we say constituency projects, we must make sure they are not senators’ projects. Even if they were nominated by senator or state lawmakers, they must be the projects that the constituency own.
“In cases where the lawmaker who started the project is not returned, the person who takes over should continue the project. This is not the case we have.

“What we see are new legislators coming and starting their own projects. In my ministry, we have over 200 constituency projects with no parentage. I have said we must finish these projects, but people are nominating new ones. I said we must finish the old ones.”

How FG can capture Niger Delta Avengers leader- Voice Delta

WARRI- VOICE Delta, a group waging war against renewed militancy in the Niger-Delta region has disclosed how the Federal Government could seize the supposed leader of the dreaded Niger Delta Avengers, NDA, within one week.
The group in series of tweets on its twitter handle, urged President Muhmmadu Buhari to stop foot dragging on the option of constituting a civilian JTF in the Niger-Delta, which it had offered privately and publicly to the Federal Government. “Let us state this fact; a vast majority of the people of the Niger Delta will welcome the setting up of the civilian JTF to fight criminals. The military as presently constituted cannot arrest this criminality by the leader of NDA (name withheld) and his gang of economic saboteurs. “A civilian JTF working side by side with the Nigerian military will flush him and his criminal gang out less than one week,” it boasted. It said the capacity of Niger Delta Avengers to strike has depleted with the loss of its men and crack in the group and urged the federal government to constitute a civilian JTF to track down the group, while the gang was clutching on straws. Voice Delta said NDA is a criminal group and its members and government should treat it as such, rather than succumbing to blackmail, adding that the group would have taken care of, if the President heeded to its advice long ago. 3 Avengers killed in Gbaran It said two weeks ago, villagers killed three members of the NDA in Gbaran territory in the Southern Ijaw local government area of Bayelsa state, but the group refused to make it public. The group asserted that the people of Gbaran got wind of a plot by NDA to blow up oil pipeline around their community and ambushed the criminals in their speedboat, adding: “In the course of this ambush, three criminals of the NDA were shot dead.” Voice Delta said the militant, who led the team escaped with bullet injury, but the supposed leader sent a rescue boat to retrieve the three dead members, who they buried at a secret location in the creek. “This action by Gbaran people should convince the federal government on the imperative of fast tracking the setting up of the proposed civilian JTF,” it added. The group said President Buhari should give approval to the proposal already accepted by the National Security Adviser and Minister of Defence, pointing out that his refusal to give his nod was what led to the Nembe incident in which militants killed three soldiers.

Meet us in the creeks; Avengers dares Army, Navy chiefs

*Say two suspects, Stanley, Felix seized by NNS Delta not NDA members WARRI- THE Niger Delta Avengers, NDA, this morning, confronted the Commander of Operation Delta Safe, Rear Admiral Joseph Okojie and Commanding Officer, NNS Delta, Commodore Joseph Dzunye, asking them to come to the creeks of the Niger Delta, rather than stay in the cities and arrest “sleeper” agents, who they brand as NDA members to curry
favour from their superiors. Spokesperson of NDA, self-styled Brig General Mudoch Agbinibo, threw the challenge in a statement rebutting the claim by NNS Delta commander on Saturday that two suspects, Stanley Tonghan and Felix Miyenminiye, arrested by the navy, few days ago, were members of the militant group. NDA said that the two suspects were agents working in conjunction with security agencies and were paid N5 million by two leaders (names withheld) to give Nigeria military intelligence on the activities of the group. The statement read: “We made it clear that the Nigeria military is using sleepers’ agents to track or checkmate the activities and operation of the Niger Delta Avengers. But the more they try, the more they run into crisis with their employed sleeper agents.” “Stanley Tonghan and Felix Miyenminiye that were arrested and paraded by the Nigeria Navy Delta are few of the sleeper agents working for Nigeria Military in conjunction with (two leaders, names withheld) “The suspects (Tonghan and Felix Miyenminiye) was paid 5
Million Naira to give Nigeria military intelligent on the activities of NDA. On failing to deliver, the suspects were arrested and tagged NDA members, what a shame? the group said. It added: “Stanley Tonghan and Felix Miyenminiye are not members of NDA we do not know or have any connection with them. The Navy Commanding Office NNS Delta, Warri(Commodore Joseph Dzunve) is trying to impress his boss in Abuja, but arresting sleeper agents recruited by his predecessor.” “Any criminal arrested is now an NDA member. Since we (NDA) started the struggle, none of our operatives has been arrested. All those in detention in the name of NDA are not part of NDA, the world should know this. “Nigeria military have not seen embarrassment. NDA will keep embarrassing you because the only thing you are good at doing in the Niger Delta region is arrest and killing of innocent citizens of the Niger Delta in the name of looking for NDA and illegal bunkering. “If the Nigeria military is serious about arresting NDA let them come to the creeks of the Niger Delta, that is where we dwell not the city. If I (Brig.Gen Moduch Agbinibo) was the Commanding Officer NNS Delta (Commodore Joseph Dzunve) and Commander of the so-called Operation Delta Safe (Rear Admiral Joseph Okojie), I would have been in the creeks instead of sitting at the comfort of my air-conditioned office,” NDA added. To the elders of the Niger Delta, the group asserted: “Hope it clear to you our elders that the President Muhammadu Buhari- led government is not reliable, reasonable, responsible and not ready to dialogue.” It said: “Can you tell the world the government official you been dialoguing with? Is it the President? On the other hand, is there any committee that is set up for it? We respect you our elders, as such stop behaving, as the Niger Delta is a seized region and stop acting like you are begging the government for dialogue.” “The worse the government will do is to bombard our villages and towns in the name of looking for NDA. Therefore, our elders should tread carefully with the Nigeria government,” it pointed out. Its words: “The reason behind military harassment of towns and villages in the Niger Delta is because NDA have not confronted the Nigeria military in battle. We are not scared in confronting you.” “The creeks of the Niger Delta belong to us, so defeating the Nigeria military is not hard for us. We have made it clear in many occasions that our business is to cripple the Nigeria economy not to kill military. The Nigeria military should, not we, (NDA) avoiding them, that is a sign of weakness,” the group added.

Boko Haram releases new video of alleged Chibok girls

Boko Haram on Sunday released a video of the girls allegedly kidnapped from Chibok in April 2014, showing some who are still alive and claiming others died in air strikes. The video is the latest release from embattled Boko Haram leader Abubakar Shekau, who earlier this month denied claims that he had been replaced as the leader of the jihadist group. “They should know that their children are still in our hands,” said a man whose face was covered by a turban in the video posted on YouTube. “There is a number of the girls, about 40 of them, that have been married by the decision of Allah,” said the man in the 11-minute video, which shows girls with veils sitting on the ground and standing in the background. “Some of them have died as a result of aerial bombardment.” The mass kidnapping of 276 Chibok schoolgirls in April 2014 provoked global outrage and brought unprecedented attention on the Boko Haram conflict, in which at least 20,000 people have been killed since 2009. Throughout 2015, the Nigerian military announced the rescue of hundreds of people, most of them women and children, who have been kidnapped by Boko Haram. But the missing schoolgirls were not among them, despite several unconfirmed sightings.

My wife converted to Christianity without my consent, man tells court

A 50-year-old trader, Mrs Kehinde Adewunmi, on Thursday in Lagos broke down in tears while on her knees begging her estranged husband, Jamiu Adewunmi, not to divorce her.
Jamiu Adewunmi had approached the Igando Customary Court, Lagos State for the dissolution of his 24-year-old marriage to Kehinde, his wife.
He alleged that Kehinde had converted to Christianity from Islam without his consent.
Kehinde, a mother of four, in her plea said, “Please court; help me beg him, where will I get a man at my age to marry me if my husband divorces me.
“I am ready to make amends wherever I might have made mistakes; I am not ready to divorce my husband.
“I still love him and besides, I do not want my children to suffer this action because they are innocent. Please, safe my marriage.”
The husband and petitioner, Jamiu, 57, a businessman, had accused his wife of converting to Christianity without his consent in his petition before the court.
“My wife was always telling me that she was going for an Islam programme called ‘Alasalatu’, instead she would secretly go to a church to worship.
“I got to know when I broke into her room in her absence because, lately, she was always locking the room and would keep its key closed to her chest.
“So, I was curious to know what she was hiding in the room.
“When I entered her room, I saw pictures where she wore a gown and cap belonging to one of the white garment churches.
“In the pictures, she posed with some other worshippers wearing the same uniform.
“I don’t want her anymore because, I cannot condole another religion in my house except the one I am practising,” he said.
He accused his wife of not cooking for him regularly and whenever she did, the food would come late.
He said, “Kehinde had failed in her matrimonial obligations.
“I had warned her several times but she wouldn’t listen to me. There is no point harbouring a wife that makes me hungry.”
He urged the court to dissolve the marriage that he was no longer in love.
The president of the court, Mr Adegboyega Omilola, ordered the couple to come along with three members of their relatives each for a possible reconciliation.
He adjourned the case to Aug. 30 for further hearing.

I discussed national matters with Buhari, says Soyinka

Nobel laureate, Prof. Wole Soyinka, on Thursday met behind closed doors with President Muhammadu Buhari.
The meeting, which lasted about an hour, was held inside the President’s office at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
Soyinka was accompanied by a former Managing Director, Daily Times of Nigeria, Dr. Yemi Ogunbiyi. The agenda of the meeting described as a private one was not made public and the Presidency did not issue any statement on it.
As he emerged from the President’s office after the meeting, the Nobel laureate was visibly surprised to see State House correspondents who were already laying ambush for him in front of the Press Gallery.
“I didn’t come to see you people,” he said as he attempted to break through a barricade set up by the journalists.
When it became clear to him that the reporters would not relent, Soyinka said,  “I came to discuss national and international matters, general matters, that’s all!”
When further probed about the details of the discussion, he said he would not divulge such.
Clearly not comfortable with press interview, Soyinka declared, “I will be holding a press conference in about a week. You can ask me any question then, but now, please I will just like to get away.”
With that the journalists made way for him to leave the premises.

ISIS claim another reason Trump shouldn’t be president – Clinton

Hillary Clinton admonished rival Donald Trump on Thursday for claiming that she and Barack Obama were the founders of the Islamic State, saying anyone who would “sink so low” should never be president.
“No, Barack Obama is not the founder of ISIS,” Clinton tweeted.
“Anyone willing to sink so low, so often should never be allowed to serve as our Commander-in-Chief.”
Trump again roiled the presidential campaign late Wednesday, telling a rally in Florida that Obama “is the founder of ISIS.”“And I would say, the co-founder would be crooked Hillary Clinton.”
Republicans have long stated that the foreign policies of Obama and his then-secretary of state Clinton share blame in helping create conditions that allowed IS to grow in Iraq and Syria.
IS was founded in 2013, months after Clinton left the State Department. It was born out of the terror group Al-Qaeda in Iraq that grew in strength in 2006 following Republican president George W. Bush’s decision to invade Iraq in 2003.
The group flourished with Obama’s withdrawal of US troops from Iraq in late 2011. Republicans said Obama was slow to recognize the threat when he said in 2014 that the Islamic State was a “JV” — junior varsity — team even though they gained ground in Syria and Iraq.
“It goes without saying that this is a false claim from a presidential candidate with an aversion to the truth and an unprecedented lack of knowledge,” Clinton senior policy advisor Jake Sullivan said in a statement.
“This is another example of Donald Trump trash-talking the United States.”
Sullivan warned that Trump was “echoing the talking points of (Russian President Vladimir) Putin and our adversaries to attack American leaders and American interests, while failing to offer any serious plans to confront terrorism or make this country more secure.”
The Democratic National Committee weighed in, saying Trump “should apologize for his outrageous, unhinged and patently false suggestions.”
But on Thursday, Trump doubled down, telling homebuilders in Miami Beach, Florida that Obama and Clinton were “the founders of ISIS.”
“ISIS will hand her the most valuable player award,” he said of Clinton, 68.
Earlier Thursday, Trump stood firm when asked by CNBC whether it was appropriate to say a sitting US president founded a jihadist group determined to kill Americans.
“Is there something wrong with saying that?” Trump, 70, said. “Are people complaining that I said he was the founder of ISIS?”
“All I do is tell the truth. I’m a truth-teller.”
With his poll numbers slipping after two nightmarish weeks, the billionaire real estate mogul also sought to minimize the personal cost of a potential defeat against Clinton.
“If at the end of 90 days I fall short… even though I’m supposed to have a lot of good ideas, it’s OK. I go back to a very good way of life,” he told the network.
“It’s either going to work or I’m going to, you know, I’m going to have a very, very nice long vacation.”
Last week, Trump prepared his followers for possible defeat, warning a rally that the November 8 election will be “rigged.”

Man murders wife’s lover on matrimonial bed

A 32-year-old businessman, Ezekiel Igbokwe, has been arrested by the Ogun State Police Command for allegedly killing his wife’s lover, Victor Olatundun.
Igbokwe was said to have killed Olatundun after he caught him having sex with his wife at their matrimonial home.
The suspect allegedly committed the offence at about 12am at Peace Lodge on Itura Street, Awa Ijebu, Ijebu-North Local Government Area of Ogun State. The suspect, who committed the crime on Wednesday, July 27, was arrested by the police the following day.
Igbokwe and his 28-year-old wife were among the 23 suspects paraded at the Ogun State Police Command headquarters, Eleweran, Abeokuta, on Thursday, for various offences ranging from murder to illegal possession of firearms and ammunition.
Igbokwe, who said he was a businessman, explained that he had returned from his trip to Onitsha and met Victor on top of his wife on their matrimonial bed.
He said he picked a machete in the toilet and cut the victim in the neck and hand.
Olatundun reportedly died on the way to the hospital.
Igbokwe, who deals in electronics, said he was born in Ago Iwoye, Ogun State.
He said, “I travelled to Onitsha on July 25, and when I came back on July 27, I met a man inside my room making love to my wife. Then we started fighting. The man was stronger than me. When I saw he could overpower me, I got a cutlass in my toilet and dealt him blows in the hand and neck. On the way to the hospital, the fuel in the car finished and he died.”
Igbokwe said he committed the crime due to anger, adding that he never meant to kill the victim.
He claimed that he had never met Olatundun before, saying he also never suspected that his wife was having an extra-marital affair with anyone.
PUNCH Metro learnt that Igbokwe and his wife, Juliet, have three children aged nine, seven and five.
Juliet, who sobbed intermittently, said her alleged lover had been pressurising her for a relationship for some time.
She explained that she had always told him she was married, but the victim never gave up until he ended up at their matrimonial home on that night.
Juliet, who said she sold snuff, said Victor was her supplier and he pestered her for six months before she finally gave in.
She said she suspected that the deceased used a charm on her, as she could not explain how it all happened.
She said, “He had been disturbing me that he wanted to marry me, but I said I was married.
“On the day of the incident, I really can’t say if he used a charm on me. All I know is that he called me that he wanted to see me and I told him not to come; he knew my house and when he came, I didn’t know what happened.
“He used to come and deliver snuff to me in the house. On the day of the incident, he told me he was coming from somewhere and that it was already late. He wanted to sleep in our place till the next day. He didn’t know that my husband was away. He tried to sleep with me, but later he didn’t.”
Juliet, who claimed that she got married to her husband in 2005, said the husband did not take good care of her and the children.
She said their marriage had been turbulent and fraught with fights and quarrels.
The mother of three said each time there was a fight, her husband would leave the house for months.

My husband used our baby’s placenta for rituals, wife tells court

The Mapo Customary Court in Ibadan, on Friday dissolved a four-year-old marriage between Musa Busari and his wife, Kafilat over issues of missing placenta and irresponsibility.
President of the court, Mr Ademola Odunade, held that there was little or nothing the court could do on the matter as evidence had shown that the couple had agreed to part ways over irreconcilable differences.
Dissolving the marriage, therefore, Odunade ordered that the man should be giving N3,000 as monthly feeding allowance for each of the two children produced by the union.
He directed that Kafilat should have the custody of the twin children “because they are still legal minor while Busari should be responsible for their education, health and other forms of welfare’’Earlier, Kafilat had told the court that her husband and his relatives collaborated to steal her baby’s placenta for ritual.
“Shortly before moving into Busari’s home in 2012, I was already pregnant with a set of twins for him.
“It happened that I gave birth to one of the two children in my father’s home, and on the following day after moving to his home, I had the second child.
“I was very weak because I was in pains, but I discovered that the placenta that came with the child was nowhere to be found.
“I asked his relatives that were around me, but they gave me no useful information as to the whereabouts of the placenta.
“It is the same question I have continued to ask till today, but the only answer Busari gave me is to forget it and to make it a secret between his family and me,’’ she said.
She claimed that because of the missing placenta, Kehinde, the second child, had been having nightmares.
“He shouts in his sleep, regularly fall sick and many more spiritual problems have befallen him as we are regular visitors to the hospital.
“Worst still, Busari does not show any form of responsibility either towards the children or I, and instead, fights me.
“Busari and his relatives are diabolic; the only solution is separation,” Kafilat said.
Busari, who welcomed the divorce, however, denied the allegations against him.
He told the court that he was a peace-loving husband who did everything within his capacity to cater for Kafailat and the children.
“Kafilat is just out to tarnish my image due to her greed.
“On the issue of catering for the sick child, Kafilat wanted me to start going the fetish way and I made her to understand that it is only prayer that could do it as an Alfa,” Busari, an Arabic teacher, said.
